Now entering its third generation, the ML 350 has set a standard in the luxury SUV segment. It appears the company has decided to adhere to the old adage: “If it ain't broken, don't fix it.” So unless you're a M-Class aficionado, exterior changes to the ML 350 are difficult to detect – but it does have a slightly wider track and lower height, plus engine refinements. The Bluetec 4Matic has a revised 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine and the 4Matic has a new 3.5-litre direct injection V6 gas engine. The Bluetec has 240 hp, offering more power and better fuel efficiency with hp and torque levels both up 14 per cent over the outgoing engine. The 3.5-litre V6 gas engine produces 302 hp and its fuel economy has been improved by about 10 per cent. MSRP $63,900
